X3M joins the drive to beat teenage cancer

X3M is proud to announce that it is one of the principal sponsor for an attempt to set a new world record for the longest continuous game of Floorball ever played. All proceeds from the event will go to the Teenage Cancer Trust, a charity devoted to improving the lives of teenagers and young adults with cancer.

Floorball is a type of floor hockey that is rapidly growing in popularity. Designed to be a fun but safe activity for people of all ages, it is a fast-paced sport with only limited physical contact allowed. There are enthusiastic clubs throughout the UK and Europe, and it is two of these – the London Sharks and the MK Phantoms – that will be competing in the attempt to beat the world record for the longest continuous game, which currently stands at 24 hours 15 minutes.

“The Teenage Cancer Trust does amazing work for young people who often have very challenging lives,” said Scott Blackwell, Managing Director at X3M UK, “and X3M is delighted to be one of the principal sponsors for this event. The money raised will mean that the charity can do even more to help youngsters, and we sincerely hope that there are many others who will follow X3M’s lead by making additional donations via the JustGiving website.”

The attempt on the world record for the longest continuous game of Floorball is being held at the Olympos Leisure Centre in Haywards Heath, West Sussex, over the Late Spring Bank Holiday weekend, 29th and 30th May. The fun starts at 10:00 am on 29th May and spectators are very welcome – especially if they bring their purses and wallets! Anyone who wishes to support the event by making an on-line donation can do so quickly and conveniently by visiting www.justgiving.com/floorballworldrecord
